More Than Just Great Food

At The Woodshed, we believe the best meals are shared around a table with family and friends. Whether you are stopping in after work, celebrating a special occasion, or grabbing dinner before heading into the Smokies, the goal is simple: serve great food and make every guest feel right at home.

Founded by Tommy and Michelle Lane, The Woodshed has grown into a local favorite because of the people behind every plate. The team brings warmth, personality, and genuine care to every shift, every table, and every catered event.

Almost all of the front of the house team members are either high school, college students, or teachers.  As a former high school teacher, Michelle believes in empowering youth and part of the Woodshed purpose was to provide a place for young people to work close to home, be able to attend school, and create a better future for themselves.  Including teachers was a natural fit because they have the patience to work with kids and they need supplemental income, basically because teachers are grossly underpaid! 

In the ten years of business, some former team members are now employed as registered nurses, radiography techs, nurse practitioners, maintenance workers, utility workers, and so many teachers.  They refer to their team as family and now there are several former team members who met their spouses while working together at the restaurant and now there are multiple Woodshed grandbabies!

This is a place where familiar faces matter, generous portions are expected, and hospitality is never an afterthought.
